Darryl Tucker - Owner & Brewmaster, Sherwood Mountain Brewhouse

I moved from Calgary to Terrace in 1996 (20 years ago) to escape the hustle and bustle of the City. I was looking for a small town in BC with a ski hill surrounded by mountains and of course a job.  After many years working in the Terrrace community I decided to go back to school and get my Brewmaster certificate. After receiving my new title, I am now the proud owner of Sherwood Mountain Brewhouse here in Terrace and we've been in business since December 2014. We are excited to be a part of the business community here. We have received great local support from the region, the people, and our growing loyal customers. There is a great network of people in the business community of Terrace that you can call on any time to share ideas with or hash out solutions to any problems you may encounter.

I love Terrace, It's been a great community for me. I've really settled in here. The mountains, the river and the ocean brought me here and kept me here. The opportunities on the rivers through rafting, canoeing, kayaking and fishing is all right here, right in our own backyard. I really like Terrace's proximity to the great outdoors. Larger centres such as Prince George, Vancouver, Calgary and beyond are just an hour or so away and is as easy as stepping on one of our Air Canada, Westjet or Central Mountain Air airlines that serves the north. If you would rather road-trip it, the scenery will take your breath away as you travel to your destination.

Terrace is a very affordable place to live and if you compare it to other parts of the province, you have all of the essential services, great recreational options indoors and out, a great transportation corridor, a great network of people and a place that will put a smile on your face every morning. Living in Terrace for me is like winning the lottery. It just doesn't get much better than this.
